Bring A Buddy Night (part 2)

WOW, time has flown by this summer. I almost went the whole month of July with out posting. I've spent a lot of time this month enjoying the grandkids and my new swimming pool. But hopefully, I can get back into a routine of some sorts. We just finished Vacation Bible School so I think August should be a little more laid back.
I wanted to share with you the second card that we made at my Bring A Buddy Night. I really like Stampin Up's new Firm Foam Ink pads. So much so that I went ahead and purchased all new ink pads in all the colors. They stamp awesome images. I've used the sentiment from the Blooming with Kindness stamp set (126422) and the flower and leaf image are from the Betsy's Blossoms stamp set (126006).

Apothecary Art

This is a card that I made when this set was first released in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  I'm so glad this set carried over.

Although the matching framelits are only supposed to be used to cut one sheet of cardstock at a time, I did cut through 2 layers of cardstock and a layer of Designer Series Paper with out any trouble.

I don't remember all the details of this card and I sold it a long time ago.  I need to start posting my cards BEFORE I sell them.

Kim

Brandy's Birthday Card

My oldest daughter Brandy turned 28 this month.  I had to stop and do the math because I couldn't believe she was 28.  Seems like I was 28 just a few years ago.

So here is her belated birthday card.  This is another image from the Easy Events set that we received at convention.  Love this set.

Sweet Centers

For my Open House, I tried to make at least one sample for each of the new items I had purchased whether it was a stamp set, ribbon, shimmer paints, punches, etc.

And one of the new sets I had purchased was the Sweet Centers stamp set along with the matching Sweet Treat Cups. So here is one of my samples using these two products. This card also uses one of the new In-colors - Melon Mambo - I used the cardstock and matching ribbon.

I also used the new stamp set Teeny Tiny Wishes and the modern label punch. Lots of new product in one small card.

And in case you can't tell, I filled the treat cup with little barretts that I got at the dollar store. There are a lot of things you can fill the treat cups with, just start looking around and you will get a ton of ideas.

Happy Bearthday Hydi!

Today we are having Hydi's first birthday party,

her birthday is actually on the 25th.

Hydi is doing really well now and they have been reducing her medication. She did have to have one of the hemangiomas on her bottom lasered, but other than that everything has went better than was expected.

I just received a BIG Stampin' Up order in on Thursday. I thought this would be my last order for the year, but now I'm thinking there are a few more things I need to get.

Anyway, part of my order was the new Build-a-Bear dies and stamp set that we are offering, so I decided to do Hydi's card with that stamp set. I apologize for the poor picture, we are leaving in just a little bit and it's to0 windy outside to take pictures so I took this one inside and it's not a very good picture. But you can really see all the shimmer on this card. I went over the dress, shoes and part of the gift bag with a Gelly Roll glaze pen. It's very sparkly in real life.

The other thing I made for Hydi was this gift bag. Again I used the Build-a-Bear dies and the new Designer Series Paper that goes with it. It's time for us to
go to the party so I will be back Monday with a very cool
project, so please be sure to check back then.

Kim

Another card from my playdate...

I told you yesterday that my friend Terri came over a few weeks ago and we made cards, well here is another card that I made and it all started with the ribbon. As I told you, Terri brought a lot of her stuff over and in her ribbon box was this piece of ribbon which I really like and matched perfectly three of Stampin' Up's colors - Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie and Baha Breeze - so those are the colors I used on this card along with So Saffron.

The stamp set is Dreams Du Jour, another set I haven't had a chance to play with much. I made the scalloped layer by punching 4 square scallops with my punch and taping them together. Pretty cool, huh? The embossed layer was made with my cuttlebug folder, because my Stampin' Up texture plates hadn't arrived yet. Just remember to stamp your images BEFORE you emboss.

Still Buzzin...

Here's another card made with the new Just Buzzin By stamp set. I used Tangerine Tango, So Saffron and Chocolate Chip on this card. I colored the hive in using my Watercolor Crayons and an aqua painter brush. I also used the Tangerine Tango designer paper and ribbon.

The card size is a little different, it's 4.25 x 4.25. I will show you later the scrapling I made from the left over cardstock.

Just Buzzin' By ...

Sorry for the bad picture, the lighting was horrible. This is one of the new sets in Spring/Summer catalog. In addition to the images shown, there are 2 more bees, a honey pot, a flower, and a sentiment that says "have a honey of a day". These could be used for birthday cards or thinking of you type cards, just about anything really.

I've already gave the card away so I don't remember for sure what colors I used. I think it was summer sun, more mustard and I know I used chocolate chip. It's hard to see, but I added dazzling diamonds to the bee's little wings. I think this will be a very popular set.

Another Card From My Stash

We had our stamp club Thursday night, Terri had a good party. We had a guest - Hi Lisa - who was a first time stamper, but she stamped like an old pro. I was going to post the cards we made, but my pictures didn't turn out very well so I'm going to wait and try to retake them in the morning, if we have some sunshine instead of rain.

So to hold you over, here is a card I made several weeks ago. I had considered submitting it for a contest, then decided not to. I used the Bud Basics set on this card. I stamped it on watercolor paper and colored it with markers. I used my new fine point quickie glue pen to outline the flowers then added Dazzling Diamonds. This card is very sparkly in real life.

RECIPE:

Paper - Watercolor paper, pretty in pink, mellow moss
Ink - Stampin Up Markers: pretty in pink, mellow moss, regal rose, always artichoke, so saffron
Accessories - Dazzling diamonds, Mellow moss taffeta ribbon, SU rub-ons

Sassy Suzie

Things didn't go as planned today, so I haven't had any time to stamp at all. So I'm going to post a card I did several weeks back. This card was made with the Sassy Suzie stamp set that is in the current mini catalog. I love the sayings that come with her. They sound like something I would say myself (she has a little bit of a smart mouth).

Anyway here are the details:

RECIPE:

Paper - Watercolor paper, Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip, Berry Bliss DS paper
Ink - Stampin' Up markers, Chocolate Chip

Accessories - Chocolate Chip twill ribbon, Cuttlebug, Large Oval Punch

New Cards From Some Old Paper

Not only do I have a problem throwing anything away. I also like to hoard things. I'm trying to get over some of these bad habits. These cards are made with the new Sale-a-brations set So Many Scallops but I used some really old paper. This paper was the first package of paper I ever bought from Stampin Up and sadly, I still have most of it.

So I will try to do a better job of using my paper, especially now since they are bringing out new designer papers in every catalog and mini.

Versatile Stamp Set

I wanted to show you how versatile one stamp set can be. So, I'm going to show a series of cards using the same stamp set. I bought the Year After Year stamp set from Stampin' Up. There are eight stamps in this set that covers most occasions and holidays. The first card I'm posting uses the pumpkin stamp. I have used a birthday greeting on this card. But if you changed the greeting, it could be a fall card, Halloween card or a Thanksgiving card.

I really wish I could take better pictures, because this one really doesn't do the card justice. It's very sparkly in real life. I sprayed it with a Pearl Ex powder and hair spray mixture.

RECIPE: All Paper and Inks from Stampin' Up

Cardstock - Close to cocoa, Only Orange, Old Olive, More Mustard, Ruby Red

Ink - Only Orange & Summer Sun markers, Brown Stazon, Close to cocoa.
