March Stamp Club Projects

These were the projects we did for Stamp Club this month. Since this is my birthday month, I decided to do birthday projects. The first picture is of what I like to call a "Surprise Can". You can fill these with all sorts of small treats, jewelry, or gift cards. My daughter got one for her 16th birthday two years ago and underneath the candy we hid the keys to her new car (new to her anyway).

The second card would be good for teenage boys. They are so hard to make cards for, don't you think? And if you change the colors, it would work great for girls too. I really like these new "extreme" single stamps that Stampin' Up has.

The third card is from the Build-a-Bear line. So far I have all the Build-a-Bears dies and stamp sets except for one, and I will get that one soon. I really like this line.

ONE MORE...

Ok, here is the last one of these for a while. It's the same card just different colors. Although I think this color combination is my favorite.

How many of you remember when Stampin' Up carried the Organza Ribbon? My favorite thing to do with the ribbon was to heat it with your embossing gun and watch it get all crinkled. Is crinkle even a word? Anyway, it was a fun technique although you had to be very careful not to melt the ribbon.

Thanks for looking,
Kim

ps - Can you find my mistake on this card?

Another Card with Bookmark

I cased myself on this card. Just changed up the colors and used the "faux lace" technique this time.

Punch Art Kangaroo

I love punch art. Whenever my friend Terri comes over for a "play date", we usually make some kind of punch art cards. This is one that I think we made last month.

We used several different punches to make the kangaroo - Wide Oval, Large Oval, 5 Petal Flower Punch, Word Window Punch, Trio Flower Punch, Heart to Heart Punch and the 1" Circle Punch.

I can't remember which designer paper I used (I've slept since then), but the card base and ribbon is Melon Mambo and the layer and kangaroo is Close to Cocoa.

Sweet Pea Card

This is a really quick card that I made with the new Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper. The papers in this pack are great for making easy cards with very little stamping. I also really like the new satin ribbon in the Occasions Mini and it is going to be carried over in the new Summer Mini which will be available May 1st.

The stamped image is from the Vintage Labels set which is FREE with a $50 purchase. Don't forget this is the last month to earn free stamps with our Sale-a-bration Promotion

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME...

Yep, today is my birthday. So far I have done absolutely nothing. Which sometimes is my favorite thing to do! I am going out for lunch later with my daughter Jess and my grandsons Ryan and Myer. Then I will probably go out for supper this evening with my husband - or he will cook for me. Either way, as long as I don't have to cook, I am happy.

I just got my new Stampin Success magazine in the mail with the new mini, but I'm waiting until after lunch to look at it. I've gotten a lot of birthday wishes from my friends from facebook so those were fun to read. For some reason they just don't believe I am only 32. I thought 32 sounded much more believable than 29.

I was hoping the sun would be out today as I have some cards that I need to take pictures of, but so far it's just a gloomy day. The sun did peep out for just a few minutes earlier this morning, but not long enough for me to get my pictures taken. Anyway, I am off to straighten up my stamp room until it is time to go for lunch.

Downline Meeting Update

I just wanted to let everyone know how the downline meeting went. I had a great time. Everyone was very friendly and Cristie did a wonderful job. She had her agenda and the notes all typed out for us. She was very organized.

For her business tip, she went over the demonstrator website with us and why we need one. She also covered the updates - the hostess portal and the blog. It was all very informative.

We all swapped cards, did a make & take and had a demonstration. Of course we had lots of snacks too. Demonstrators and Baptists have one thing in common - we don't ever get together with out eating LOL! It was a very enjoyable afternoon. Thanks again Cristie for allowing us to be a part of your group.

I'm sorry I didn't take any pictures of the meeting, I meant too. I even had my camera with me, but I just forgot.

I spent today with my friend Terri making cards, so hopefully if I can get some good pictures I will share those cards with you tomorrow. My grandson is spending the night this evening and he likes for me to watch movies and eat popcorn with him, so I won't be on my computer much.

Thanks for stopping by,
Kim

ps - As a member of the Freedom Baptist Church, I was poking fun at myself so please don't anyone get upset by my demonstrator/baptist comment. And if you are a southern baptist, you know this statement is true anyway :)

I'M SO EXCITED

AND I JUST CAN'T HIDE IT - How many of you 80's girls remember that song? I am pretty excited. I get to go to my first downline meeting tomorrow. The really cool part is - I don't even have an upline, not until you get to the 4th and 5th level anyway and they really didn't want to be bothered with me.

I sent out emails to demonstrators that were close to me - found them on the demonstrator locator - and explained I didn't have an upline but would like to get together with other demonstrators, maybe even form our own team of sorts.

Anyway I did get emails back from two different demonstrators who were just starting downline meetings and said that me and my one downline was welcome to join them. So tomorrow is the day for my first downline meeting and I can't wait.

I will tell you all about it later.

Kim

Totally Cool

That's Totally Tess, she is totally cool. This is one of the stamp sets from the occasions mini. Someone said she is like the Barbie for Stampin' Up. She does come with some cool stamps - markers, stamps, a card. I think she is pretty stylish don't you?

I did use some retired Designer Series Paper for pants and her handbag. It's kind of hard to tell in the picture, but I put some crystal effects on her boots to give them a nice shine.

I made this card for a friend of mine who took me out to lunch a couple of weeks ago. Now if I can only get it to the mailbox.

My New Stamp Space

Remember last fall that I told you my husband was remodeling our old livingroom to make it into a new stamp room. Well I never did post the pictures.

Also, I decided not to move my stamp room into the new space. I use this space mostly for classes, I also have items and cards displayed that I sell at craft shows. Sometimes, when I am working on projects, I do spread out into this room, but other than the sewing station and the cricut station, the rest of my stuff is still in my old stamp room (which is adjacent to this room).

The first picture was taken from the doorway of my old stamp room. You can see the tree at the far end of the room. I can't get a good picture of it with it being in front of the window, but I change the decorations as the season or holiday changes. It is still dressed for Valentine's Day, but I have a few things to put on it for Easter.

The card rack was a bargain that I got. A craft store was closing and the owner sold me the rack for $10.

February 2010 Hostess Gift

This was one of my hostess' gifts for February. The milk cartons were made with the new Milk Carton Die from the Occasions Mini. I did fill them with jelly beans before I gave them to the ladies.
