My try at the flower pin

I really hate that this photo is so fuzzy, because the flower pin turned out really cute. I can't even retake the picture, because I have already gave the pin away. I had a lady at my friend Terri's workshop who really liked the pin so I gave it to her. She was the first one to mention the pin and tell me how cute it was so she was the one to receive it. I then had several ladies telling me how much they liked my rag quilt purse, they were hoping I would give it away also, but I didn't LOL!

I don't have the Flower Folds Die YET, so I used a flower die that I had borrowed from my friend Terri to make this pin. I hope I have time over the next few days to make some more.

Hostess Gift

Here is the hostess gift for one of my Stamp Clubs and I also made one for my friend Terri, who held a workshop this month.

I really wish I had a better picture, because these turned out really cute. I filled them with Hershey Kisses and then put in a piece of tissue paper.

The outside is made from stiff felt that was cut with my scallop circle die and the big shot. It's very sparkly. The penquin came from my "reject box". This is a box that is filled with projects I started and didn't finish, or embellishments (like the penquin) that I made but haven't used yet. Once in a while when I need an idea or I don't have a lot of time I go and see what I have in my box.

Since the penquins were already made, these boxes came together quickly. I don't remember who came up this punch art. These were left over from a bunch that I made last winter.

Rag Quilt Purse #2

Here is my second rag quilt purse. I think I told you in an earlier post that my husband bought me a new sewing machine for Christmas. Well I finally got time over the weekend to get it out of the box. After spending some time trying to figure out how to make a bobbin and thread machine, I was ready to start sewing.

I worked on this purse Saturday evening and finished it up Sunday evening. It probably took me about 8 hours total (and I am not fast at sewing) - that includes cutting the blocks with my Big Shot, laying everything out and making the flower for the center of the purse.

I think the hardest part of making this purse, for me anyway, was the handles. I even bought some canvas handles to use on this purse but my husband didn't think it would look right and thought the handles should be made out of matching material. Which also meant getting out the iron and ironing board, and I hate to iron. Now I can't wait to start on purse #3.

January 2010 Stamp Club Projects

Here are two of the three January Stamp Club projects we did this month. My pictures of the third project were all so blurry that I can't use them. I will try retaking them again. I must have had shaky hands that day because most of my pictures from that day are very blurry.

The Top Note Quilt Card is a stepped-down version of my earlier post. I used a lot of new products on this card. The "Sending Love" paper, the Pinking Border Punch, Heart embosslit, Whimsical Words Clear mount stamps.

The calendar also uses some new products - the Good Neighbors Clear mount stamp set and the Sweet Pea Designer paper stack.

Working on a new blog layout...

If you are checking out my blog today, it might be a little wonky. I have been trying to decide which blog layouts I like best. I thought about doing a valentine one, but then I would just have to change it again in a few weeks, so I took that one off and put this one on.

I'm ready for spring, warmer weather, flowers, and especially sunshine. I don't think this cold weather would be so bad, if we could just have some sunshine with it. It has been pretty dreary here in central Illinois the last several weeks. I like to wake up to the sun shining through my bedroom window, and that just hasn't happened lately.

Anyway, this blog layout just made me feel better, like a glimpse of spring. Be sure to check back tomorrow, maybe even later this evening. I'm having our church's women's Bible study here tonight and so I am supposed to be cleaning house. I am hoping to get some things posted later this evening though.

Thanks for stopping by,
Kim

Here is another card with the Extreme Guitar Stamp. This is a case of my own card HERE.
I told you in that post that this stamp would be good for boy or girls, you just need to change up the colors.

Another Bird Card...

I told you I really liked that 2 Step Bird Punch. My card was cased from this card I found on this blog HERE . I substituted my bird punch and changed the colors up a little bit. I had a little bit of trouble with the Scallop Border punch, so I covered my mistake with the Pink Satin Ribbon.

Same Layout, Different Card

Does this card look familiar? It is the same layout as yesterday's card, but I switched out the bird for the hearts. I love punches. They are (today anyway) my most favorite tool. Can you tell that I also really like the Black Satin Ribbon. It just seems to go with everything and on this card I used it with Bermuda Bay.

2 Step Bird Valentine Card

Here is another Valentine Card. I used some more new stuff on this one. I used what I think will turn out to be one of my favorite products - the Extra Large 2-Step Bird Punch. Add the new Black Satin Ribbon and new Scallop Border Punch and you have a really cute and quick card.

My Grandsons' Birthday Cards

These are the cards that I made for my grandsons birthday. Ryan just turned 4 today and he loves SpongeBob.

Myer turned 1 on Friday. He was born on Elvis' birthday which is also his mom and dad's anniversary. I tried to talk them into naming Myer "Presley", but dad didn't like that name.We had the boys' party Saturday so that their cousins from Kentucky could be here.

If you have a weak stomach, don't look at this next picture. It's Myer eating his birthday cake. He's really enjoying it. And this is him about half way through the cake, it got much worse.

My New Stuff

I told you last week that I got a new Stampin' Up shipment in. Well here is a picture of my stuff. Check out the new "clear mount" stamp sets. These will save you some money and a lot of room.

I have some new sets, punches, paper, accessories, Big Shot Dies, Build-a-bear stuff. The new punches are also great. They will save a lot of room also. I never thought space would be an issue for me, but after over 4 years of stamping and more sets than I will mention on here (my husband looks at my blog from time to time), space is starting to become an issue.

This is the first card that I made with my new stuff.

Big Shot and Fabric

I really like all the embellishments, pins, and cards made using fabric and the Big Shot, and had to give it a try.

My friend Terri came over last week for another "playdate" and she brought a bunch of her sizzix dies with her. While she spent most of her time punching out pieces to make the polar bear card I posted HERE, I spent most of my time punching out circles and making these flowers. She was even nice enough to leave me her dies to play with. Thanks Terri!

Besides Terri's circle die, I also used the Table Setting Die and the Top Note Die from Stampin' Up.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas....

We have snow and I have a big Stampin' Up order "out for delivery". Kind of feels like Christmas to me.

I can't wait to show you my new goodies.

Greetings Earthlings

I bought this set when the catalog came out this summer and I'm just now inking it up. I needed to make thank you cards for the girls who performed in our Children's Program and thought this set would make a cute card for them.

I didn't have enough pink ribbon for all the cards and I've been trying to use Stampin' Up only, so I made my own stitched ribbon.

Polar Bears

These cute polar bears have been on my "list of things to make" for quite some time. I finally sat down the other day to make them. They aren't difficult, but they were a little time consuming for me. I distressed all the edges, and that took a while. If you skipped that step, it would probably be a pretty quick card.

I have seen these on several blogs, so I am not sure who created these originally, I can just say it wasn't me.

Kim

p.s. this is the other card that I used Bordering Blue on.

You Totally Rock

Here is one of the "single" stamps that you can purchase from Stampin' Up. It's called Extreme Guitar and makes a great card for a teenager (boy or girl).

I used Bordering Blue for the base. I rarely use this color, matter of fact I am still using the sheets from my Assortment pack that I bought when I first started stamping almost 5 years ago. The funny thing is, I ended up using the paper twice in one day. Check back tomorrow to see what else I used it on.

A Cute Mouse?

I like to randomly click on blogs while I am checking out the forums over at SCS. Sometimes I look at the first few posts and I'm done, and once in a great while I find one that I just really enjoy, and this is one of those blogs - http://stampininthecountry.blogspot.com/ - I actually looked at her entire blog. I like her style, she has great projects and here is one of them that I cased.

The little mouse is made with the ornament punch from Stampin' Up. The colors are so pretty in real life. I guess I need to start taking my pictures in the morning and catch some of that natural lighting. I had every intention to do that today, but before I knew it my daylight was gone.

Sale-a-Bration and Occasion Mini Catalogs

If you would like to view the new Sale-a-Bration and Occasions Mini catalog, just click on them on the right hand side bar. Remember you can't order from these until January 5th though.

I think there is something for everyone in these catalogs. I know my list is long. I've been good so far, and I am waiting until the 5th to order so that I can earn all my Sale-a-bration items for free. If you would like to earn some free stuff, just let me know and we will schedule you a workshop.

Thanks
Kim
