Xtool F1 Engraved Jewelry

It’s been a while since I have shared anything that I’ve created. Carlos (my husband Steve) had knee replacement April 8th then we ended up in the hospital April 16th as he had went into A-fib. He is doing better now. So anyway…

Last Sunday my granddaughter came over so I could help her with her taxes and she asked if I had anything she could make for her friend. So she did make a keychain bracelet from those big wooden beads and then she picked out a metal necklace for herself and one for her friend that she wanted engraved with my Xtool F1. If anyone is interest in any Xtool products, I do have a referral link xtool.pxf.io/LXdMa3

I asked my granddaughter if she wanted me to engrave hers first or her friends since I hadn’t used my F1 in a while and I was afraid I might mess it up. So she responded “do my friends first” lol. Well her friends came out perfect, Hydi’s however, I did not get the name placed perfectly. The engrave itself looks great, just the placement was off. But i thought I would share both of them with you anyway. Just as a reminder that we all mess up sometimes.

Personalized Wind Chimes

Acrylic Wind Chimes

A few years ago, lots of people in the crafting world were on a wind chime trend. I also decided to give them a go and I bought several sets of chimes. The problem was I didn't like the way the chimes would hang. Most people were hanging them with fishing line and I just didn't care for that. The other issue was most people were buying metal shapes and I wanted to be able to cut my own shapes with my laser. But if I used a material called sublimation mdf there was the issue of it maybe not holding up in the weather and even if I used sublimation acrylic it might fade very quickly in the sunlight. So I just kind of gave up on them.
Fast forward a bit and last year I was at a laser conference and found a spray that I could use on the acrylic (which will hold up to the weather) that will keep the sublimated image from fading. Of course all items will fade in sunlight over time, but this spray should keep it from fading too quickly. So I decided to give the wind chimes another shot. I also found while I was reorganizing my stamp room some string (for lack of a better word) that was supposed to work well with wind chimes. So here is my first prototype!

As soon as we get some decent weather I will spray this wind chime with the UV protectant and hang it out on my front porch. I really love the look of sublimation acrylic and if the sun ever comes back out I will take a picture with the sun shining through it so you can see just how pretty it is. These pictures just don't do it justice. Hopefully soon we will be offering personalized wind chimes in whatever shape you like. Wouldn't that make a cool gift?

Well It’s Been A While

Over 8 years since I posted last. I was never any good at posting on a regular basis, but 8 years, well I sincerely doubt anyone is still checking my blog to see if I have posted anything new, lol, so this post is really just for me. When last I was blogging, they were just getting to where you could make a blog post on your iPad. I’m sitting here now doing this post on my phone. So much has changed in the last eight years. First of all, I’m no longer a Stampin’ Up demonstrator. I gave that up in the fall of 2022 when I found out I had cancer.

I do still love to craft but have branched out into so many more things. I do a lot of laser projects now along with sublimation and white toner printer, and 3d printer projects. I have a 2 story she shed that I do most of my crafting in now, although I still have a stamp room in the house. I haven’t done much stamping in the last several years but I do miss it and hope to dust off my supplies soon and get back to cardmaking. One of my latest items I created was this Crochet cabinet and yarn spinner for my friend Kathy.  This was done on my 3d printer.

Just for the fun of it....

For the first time in a very long time, I stamped just for the fun of it today.  Here is one of the seven cards I made today.  Love the Timeless Texture Stampin' Up set.  It's a very versatile set.  I also tried a new color combo today - Perfect Plum, Blushing Bride with just a tad bit of Crumb Cake.  And the Blushing Bride Glitter Paper is awesome.  Very pretty and sparkly in real life.

I know it has been a very, very long time since I posted, so if anyone is still out there -

Thanks for looking,

Let's Try This Again...

I've considered just deleting my blog because as you can tell I'm not very good at blogging consistently, but I decided to give it one more try. Besides GoDaddy already automatically renewed my domain name so I thought I might as well.

So here is one of my latest card creations. I love the Holiday Catalog and I used two of my favorite sets on this card.

Another reason I haven't posted here for a long time is because I usually post on my Facebook page instead. I've been really busy making personalized and custom order shirts lately, and I thought I would share one of those with you also.

I made this one to wear to the Unite and Excite event in Terre Haute. I can't wait, maybe I will meet some of you there.

Thanks for stopping by my very neglected blog,

FEBRUARY STAMPIN' UP PUNCH ART CLASS

Here are the cards that we made at my first Stampin' Up Punch Art Class. In addition to these cards, each person made a 6x6 Instruction Sheet for each punch art.

Even if you missed the first class, it's not too late to participate in this fun class. I will be offering this Punch Art Class the second Tuesday of each month at 1:30pm and again at 6:00pm. The cost of the class will be $15, the class fee will be waived with a $40 order. You can also get your class ½ off just by bringing a friend. Yep, anytime you bring a friend of yours that has not attended one of my stamping events (or at least not in the last year, my memory doesn’t go back much further than that), you get your class fee for $7.50.

If you plan to attend, just let me know by Sunday, March 9th.

SCALLOP TAG TOPPER CLASS

This is my latest class on the schedule.  We will be making the three projects shown, plus two more projects for a total of 5 projects and the class fee includes the Scallop Tag Topper punch.  All this for $32.  The cost of the punch itself is $27.08 with tax and shipping. So you are getting the class for just under $5!  That’s a deal.

The class will be held at my house and you have two opportunities to take the class.  I will be offering a session on Thursday, February 27 at 6:30 and a second session on Saturday, March 1 at 1:30.

If you would like to attend you MUST let me know by February 18th as I will need to order the punches and I need to allow time for them to get here.  There are no cancellations for this class after I order the punches.  If you can’t attend,  you will still receive the punch and a packet of materials to complete the projects (written instructions are not included in this class), or you can find someone to take your spot.

Don’t forget YOU MUST REGISTER BY FEBRUARY 18TH TO ATTEND THIS CLASS.

And just a reminder, we have completed our first session of my new Punch Art Class.  The next class will be held on Tuesday, March 11 at 1:30pm and again at 6:00pm.  If you would like to attend please let me know and which session you would like.  I will be posting the cards we made on my blog later so be sure and check those out. I won’t be posting instructions for the punch art or sharing the instruction sheets as those are for the class attendees alone.

I hope to see you at one of my upcoming events,

Kim Jenkins

Flower Box in a Card

WOW! It's been a long time. I knew it had been a while, but didn't realize I hadn't posted since October. Well here's to doing better this year. Now on to the card, or should I say box? It's both! How cool is this project. If folds down flat like a card, so you can easily mail it in an envelope. Then you open it up and it turns into a box that you can display. Pretty neat, huh? I thought so.

Please excuse the finger in the picture.

Love this project, and will definitely be making more. Maybe I will even post a picture of them, lol.

Kim

Coffee and Friends...the Perfect Blend

Just a quick post tonight. I don't like coffee, but I really like this stamp set. It makes for some quick and easy cards.

I spent this afternoon working on projects for Stamp Club this month. I have one opening left in my Tuesday club. If you are interested in joining or would like more info, just send me an email. And I also have one spot left for my Cabin Retreat which will be held October 4-5 this year.

New Domain Name

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to let you know that I have a new domain name. Now to get to my blog, all you have to type is kimscardcreations.com. Same blog, just a new name.

I also want to share a project with you today (although it's not a card). This is a drawstring book bag that I made for a fundraising auction. My friend Terri is the director of her church puppet team - Heavenly Hands Puppets - and they are raising money this Saturday evening for her team to go on a mission trip next summer. They also do a lot of ministering right here in this community. So if you can, come and support them this Saturday. A meal is served at 5:00 for a free will offering with the auction following

Washi Tape Fun

I'm sitting down at the park watching the grandsons play (and getting bit by flies) and thought I would post a card that I made several weeks ago.

I used Stampin Up's new Washi Tape to make the candle stick, love this stuff. It helps make some quick and easy cards.

Updated Specials and My Very Own Convention Shirt

I have updated the Stampin' Up Specials page of my blog, so just click on the link above to find all the details to the many specials Stampin' Up is offering this month.

This month Stampin' Up is offering a Buy Three Get One Free Special with their Designer Series Paper (some exclusions do apply).  They also have special pricing on their new My Paper Pumpkin program.

And if you have been thinking about joining Stampin' Up, they have a special for you too.  All the details are on the Stampin' Up Specials page.

Yesterday was the start of Stampin' Up's Annual Convention, and I had decided not to go this year even though it was their 25th Anniversary because I really just don't like crowds. And they were expecting close to 6000 demonstrators.   As usual, after seeing updates on convention, I always start wishing I had gone.  So instead of just sitting here and feeling sorry for myself, I decided to make me my very own convention shirt.  These shirts are normally only available to those who attend convention, and if they do have extras to sell after convention, the shirts sell out fast and are a little pricey.  So I just made my own.  What do you think?

It's not exactly the same as Stampin' Up's convention shirt.  I change the color of the wording to Melon Mambo and you can't see it but the Stampin' Up logo is on the sleeve.  I also left off the word convention since I didn't actually go.  I can't wait to show it to my downline Thursday at our monthly downline meeting.

Now I need to go open my big box of goodies that I preordered from the Holiday Catalog.

Thanks for stopping by,
Kim

Cutest Baby Ever!

Well I finally got to play with some of my new Stampin' Up products today.

This Onsie Card has been on my "list of cards to make" for some time now. I thought the new 2013-2014 In-color Coastal Cabana would make a cute baby card. The other new Stampin' Up products I used on this card is the new stamp set Love Label and the coordinating punch Artisan Label.

Since I couldn't find a template for this card - well one I didn't have to pay for anyway - I decided to make my own.  So if you would like the pattern just let me know.

If you have not received a new Stampin' Up catalog yet, contact me and I would be happy to get one to you.

Thanks for looking,
Kim
