As promised...

Here is a new card. This card has a little pocket on the front with a bookmark tucked into it.

I used a technique found on Julie Buhler's blog to make the bookmark. You just basically smash your ink pad onto a piece of plastic then mist the ink with a spray bottle. You then take your cardstock and press down onto the ink several times until you get the look you want. Hit it with a heat gun and your done. Then just stamp as desired.
Here is a close up of the bookmark.

WOW

I was looking at my last post and just realized it has been 10 days since I've posted. I'm sorry. Time just gets away from me sometimes. I have been busy - I had 2 stamp clubs last week, a ladies bible meeting this week and I spent Monday helping my daughter's friend make 50 baby shower invitations. Wednesday is always church day - I try to get caught up on things I need to do for church and then I plan our lessons and games for our Seeker's program.

I just got back from Ohio - the Heath area - I went with my husband yesterday and we just got home tonight. He had a meeting this morning and then we stopped at some scrapbook stores on the way home, but most of the time we were just driving and that wears me out. Funny how tired a person can get from doing nothing but sitting on their behinds.

I had a whole list of places in the Columbus and Dayton area I wanted to stop at, but the weather was awful - snow and ice - so we decided we had better just get home. I guess they had a really nice day here at home. Sunny and about 38 degrees.

I am off to bed early (for me anyway) to get rested up and I am planning on having a new card posted tomorrow so be sure and check back.

Goodnight,
Kim

My First Side Step Card

This is my first side step card. There are lots of different instructions out there on how to make these. I thought the easiest was the video tutorial on Dawn Griffith's blog.

It seems like it would be complicated, but if you get the cut correct, everything else is a piece of cake.

Thanks for looking,
Kim

RECIPE

PAPER - So Saffron, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, Whisper White

STAMPS - Teeny Tiny Wishes, Fifth Avenue Floral, a retired set - can't remember the name
INK - Regal Rose, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip
ACCESSORIES - 2 Step Bird Punch, Word Window punch, Modern Label punch

I went back to the reject box...

And pulled out another flower. Remember my flower from the previous post? Well I actually made a couple of flowers that day. So I pulled out another flower for this card. The Designer Series Paper also came from the reject box. While getting ready for a workshop last month, I realized I had cut my strips from the wrong sheet of designer series paper. So I had to recut using the correct paper, and I just put these strips in the reject box.

So this card came together pretty quickly since I already had most of the pieces cut.
Here's a close up view of the flower.

KISS Card - Keeping It Sweet and Simple

Remember my reject box? Well the flower on this card was made several weeks ago, then thrown into the reject box because I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it. Then I saw this layout on a blog, except they had a stamped image in the middle.
The light bulb went on, and I thought the flower would look great in the middle.
To make the flower, check out the Paper Pleasing blog. She has a easy tutorial on how to do these. Be sure to click on the picture to see the texture on the flower.

I'm not lion....

Here are two of the "lion" cards that I made. I originally saw them on Tami White's blog, and she used the heart shaped treat cups for the body. Since I didn't have them I searched online and found several different lion punch art figures and just put it together using the punches I had.

The card thats says "I'm not lion" is going to a friend from church who hasn't been there for a while. The inside says "We've really missed you at church". I just typed these sayings up on my computer and then punched them out.

Cards from my last playdate

My friend Terri and I try to get together every week or two (doesn't always work out) to make cards. Here are a few of the cards we made.

I had just received her order that day from her workshop so we broke out one of her new stamp sets and paper.

After making a punch art tractor card we decided we needed a fast and easy card and this was it.
