I'm sorry this isn't a very good picture. This is a set of cards that I made for three little girls in our church. They are identical layouts, just different colors.
I used the set refuge and strength and the inks were all colors from last years in colors. I also used the notecards with envelopes that Stampin' Up sells. Those notecards help make a really quick card. If you don't have some, you really need to order them.

Another card from my playdate...
I told you yesterday that my friend Terri came over a few weeks ago and we made cards, well here is another card that I made and it all started with the ribbon. As I told you, Terri brought a lot of her stuff over and in her ribbon box was this piece of ribbon which I really like and matched perfectly three of Stampin' Up's colors - Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie and Baha Breeze - so those are the colors I used on this card along with So Saffron.
The stamp set is Dreams Du Jour, another set I haven't had a chance to play with much. I made the scalloped layer by punching 4 square scallops with my punch and taping them together. Pretty cool, huh? The embossed layer was made with my cuttlebug folder, because my Stampin' Up texture plates hadn't arrived yet. Just remember to stamp your images BEFORE you emboss.

The Grandbabies
Here is a picture of my grandbabies taken last week. Hydi is on the left and little "Elvis" is on the right. Hydi spent the night with us and Myer came over to see his big cousin.
My daughter Jessi had them laying on the floor taking pictures and Hydi kind of bopped Myer in the head. He didn't cry though, he just grabbed her hand and started sucking Hydi's thumb.
For those of you who have been praying for Hydi and following along about her condition, I just wanted to give you a quick update. She went back to the Children's Hospital in St. Louis earlier this month and saw a couple of specialists and got good reports. The heart doctor said that her heart is shrinking which is a good thing because her condition had caused it to become a little enlarged. Also, the ultrasound of her liver showed that the hemangiomas on her liver are also shrinking. This is very good news, because typically they can continue to grow until a baby is a year old. And if you click on this picture for a close up, you can tell from previous pictures that the hemagiomas on the outside are fading away also. So thank you again to everyone for your prayers.

This is a lot harder than I thought...
Keeping up with this blog is a lot harder than I thought it would be. I don't know what my problem is, I will do pretty good job of posting for a few days, then BAM, I hit a big dry spell. Oh, well, all I can do is say I'm sorry, but I do appreciate those of you who keep checking in.
Enough excuses, I wanted to share a card with you. Several weeks ago my friend Terri came over and we spent the whole day making cards. That was a lot of fun. She drug over a bunch of her stuff and we had a big mess in my stamp room. But we did get quite a few cards made. This is one that I did using the Upsy Daisy set which I've had for a while now.
I stamped the flowers in Pumpkin Pie ink, then stamped it again with So Saffron to give it the shadowed look. I punched the butterfly from some old So Saffron DSP that I had. I layered it all on pumpkin pie paper and added some pumpkin pie ribbon. That is my favorite thing about Stampin' Up, the way everything matches.
Thanks for looking,
Kim
