Treat ideas...

Someone on a blog that I visit had a pinwheel card she had made with the tag punch. She asked the question, what have you done with your punches lately.

I love my punches and use them all the time. I like it when someone comes up with an "out of the box" idea. So here's what I have done. The Santa treat was cased from Dawn's Stamping Thoughts. I'm not sure who came up with the spider idea, these are floating all over the web (forgive the pun). And the Frankie treat was a spin off of all the Frankie cards and boxes out there. I'm sorry the picture isn't the greatest, but I hope you get the idea.

Thanks for looking

We Got a Second Opinion ....

We went to St. Louis Tuesday to see another specialist and get a second opinion. After doing some blood work that the first specialist didn't do, this doctor wants to take Hydi off of her medication. She also ordered an Echo on her heart and another ultrasound on the liver. The echo came back ok, and we haven't got the results of the second ultrasound yet. It's been a real roller coaster around here lately.

Hydi and Brandy did spend the night with me a couple of nights this week. I forgot how tiring it is getting up with a baby in the middle of the night.

I Thought you might like an updated picture. She looks rather sober in this picture doesn't she?

This is a picture of my grandson Ryan with our poodle Gracie. You can see his mom holding Hydi in the background. His mom is pregnant, so we will have another grandbaby in January. Christmas at our house ought to be pretty lively next year, don't you think?

Thank again for all your prayers and please keep praying.

A New Card - Finally

If you have been following my blog, you know we have been rather busy with the birth of our new granddaughter. Well, Saturday I finally got to do some stamping. I stamped all morning in my pajamas. I didn't even get dressed until late afternoon, then I gave the dog a bath and then I needed a bath so about an hour later I was back in my pajamas.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this card I made. I used one of my new sets - Inspired By Nature.

I am still hoping to have an open house, I am looking at October 10th or 11th. Maybe even both days. So let me know if either of these days will work for you.

Thanks

Kim

Update on Hydi

Hi everyone,

I want to thank everyone who has been praying for our Hydi. Other than the birthmarks, she's doing really well. She did see a specialist at St.Louis Children's Hospital last Friday. They did another ultrasound on her liver, brain and spleen. She does have the hemangiomas (the birthmarks) all over her liver. They have started her on a medication that is used to treat heart problems. Some doctor discovered that this medicine shrunk the hemangiomas as well as treating the heart problems.

Hydi goes this Thursday to see an eye specialist at the Children's hospital because she has one on the colored part of her eye.

Here is a picture of Hydi and Papa (my husband) and the picture of Hydi by herself is one of Brandy's (Hydi's mom) favorite pictures.

Please pray that this medicine stops her birthmarks from growing and keeps her from getting anymore. If the medicine doesn't work, the next option may be steroids.

I also want to thank Aubrey Benson, who saw the post about Hydi's birthmarks on this blog and posted a comment. I then emailed Aubrey and she pointed me to a website that has a lot of information about this condition. We sent an email to a doctor in New York that is the leading expert in hemangiomas, and we received an email today that he would be contacting us either by phone or email within the next 2 days.

Again, thank you all for your prayers, and please keep praying.

Please keep praying....

Hydi, our new grandbaby (see previous posts) has an appointment this Friday at the Children's Hospital in St.Louis, so please keep her in prayer. She is going to see a specialist about her birthmarks.

I will keep you updated as soon as we learn more.

Other than the birthmarks, she is doing very well. I will post some more pictures soon.

Meet Hydi

Here is a picture taken of little Hydi (pronounced like Heidi) taken just a few hours after she was born. Look at all that hair.

We thought she was going to get to come out of the nursery today, but she had a little set back. The nurses were nice enough to sneak me in the nursery - only moms and dads are allowed - and I got to feed her twice today.

Brandy (her mom) and I did a little shopping today. Brandy was released yesterday evening, but they are letting her stay in a room at the hospital. Anyway, we searched for a little frilly dress for Hydi to get her picture taken in, but couldn't find any. Effingham doesn't have a lot of stores to choose from for baby clothes.

Anyway, I thank everyone for their prayers and ask you to please continue to pray for both mom and baby.

It's A Girl!

I'm sorry for not keeping everyone updated, things just happen so fast. I do thank you all for your prayers.

Brandy delivered a beautiful baby girl at 2:15pm Monday August 25th at St. Anthony's hospital. She was 6lb 11oz and 18 1/2 inches long.

Everything that could go wrong with the delivery did go wrong. It's a long story and I don't have much time. They did end up doing a c-section.

Brandy had some problems yesterday and we had some health problems with the baby. The are both doing ok right now. But Please keep praying for them both. After an episode of the baby choking and she stopped breathing, they have put her in the nursery with oxygen and have started an IV as she hasn't quite fiqured out how to eat yet. There are several other health issues as well, but again I don't have time to explain.

I will post more when things calm down.

Thanks again for all your prayers

A Quick Update

Brandy got to come home Monday afternoon. She is still taking medicine to stop her contractions, but they are few and far between now. She will be on bedrest until she delivers. She goes to her own OBGYN this afternoon, so maybe we will know more this evening.

She is 34 weeks now and since she has had the steroid shots, the doctor at Carle Hospital in Champaign was sure that they would deliver her baby at St. Anthony's if the labor started in again. Normally, St. Anthony's won't deliver a baby until you are a min. of 35 weeks.

Thanks to everyone for your prayers.

Update on Brandy...

Brandy is still in the hospital. She was feeling pretty good when I talked to her a couple of hours ago. She was just getting ready to eat supper from Fazoli's.

They have taken her off the mag drip. They started her on some oral medicine that is supposed to help stop the contractions. It didn't work real well. She started having contractions again, so the doctor ordered some kind of shot for her that caused her to have a lot of chest pain. They won't be giving her anymore of those. Tomorrow she is 34 weeks, so if she keeps having contractions, they may go ahead and let her deliver.

I thank you all for your prayers and will continue to update as I can.
